Amazon AppStream 2.0 and Google SSO Documentation

Over the course of the Fall of 2017, Luke Maier and Dumar Daniel in our engineering department, along with our AWS certified Solutions Architects, Frank Anderson and Jon Fronza, spent time researching and testing Amazon's AppStream 2.0 service. In addition to understanding the ins-and-outs of the product, our goal was to explore, test, and verify ways that AppStream 2.0 could be used to support teaching and learning in K-12 and higher education classrooms.

Given that over 50% of U.S. K-12 schools who purchased technology for students are using Chromebooks, one obvious need was a means to help students reduce the number of logins they have to manage through single-sign-on ("SSO") and help IT departments manage access to the service. The results of our work with the AWS K-12 education team includes the attached step-by-step documentation that walks through the process a school IT department can take to setup SSO and package Amazon AppStream 2.0 as a Chrome app to improve management and deployment.
