School Age Technology Curriculum

Creating a technology-integrated curriculum based on student self-direction and choice.

Challenge

A large, nation-wide child care and after school education provider needed a partner to help design and develop a technology program to support their after school program. They had struggled with previous content that was too focused on step-by-step instructions for using early elementary devices and not enough on how the technology can help children to wonder, explore, play, and learn.

Solution

Working closely with their content development team, we reviewed their existing curriculum and developed a new model for integrating technology based on student self-direction and choice. Centered around content pathways including coding, engineering, art, and design, students use technology as a means of exploring the world around them to create games, designs, and final products.
