 # Mobile App Development

 

 

  Open-ended instructional apps that makes it easy to learn math using virtual manipulatives with phenomenal results.

 

  

 

 

   

 

  

 

 

 ## Challenge

The Math Learning Center (MLC) was interested in finding ways to effectively integrate technology to support the visual modeling found throughout their Bridges in Mathematics K-5 classroom math curriculum. Instead of “learning games,” they wanted tools designed for open-ended exploration of mathematical ideas.

## Solution

From ongoing brainstorms with MLC, Clarity crafted a series of eleven apps that translated familiar real-world manipulatives—visual models used in classrooms to reinforce conceptual understanding of math—and adapted them into virtual educational tools. From there, we applied our instructional expertise to extend their functionality to support deeper insights and exploration. To provide broad access to the tools Clarity created iOS, Chrome, Windows, and Web-based HTML5 versions.
