Volunteering at the Intel ISEF Science Fair
Date
Volunteering at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, is Julia Fischer, one of our active Professional Development Consultants. She will be assisting with a hands-on workshop for educators, introducing them to the concepts of the Intel® Teach Elements: Inquiry in the Science Classroom.
On the public outreach day she will be serving as a Lead Educator for the Forensic Science Challenge overseeing a group of volunteers and guiding students through their experience. The Challenge is a one-hour interactive experience that asks middle and high school students to dust for fingerprints, analyze foot impressions and study blood spatter at eight different stations in order to solve a murder. Students will use science and deductive reasoning to eliminate suspects. The curriculum was developed in partnership with the National Museum of Crime and Punishment.
