Steven Burt Quoted in New ISTE Publication
Date
Content and Research Manager Steven Burt was recently quoted in the new book, "Web 2.0: New Tools, New Schools" from ISTE. Steve's comments are directed at how schools can take advantage of Open Source CMS tools like Drupal which "play nicely with others." That is, unlike proprietary content management systems which are frequently closed off to the latest generation of Web tools and services, the solutions which Clarity Innovations provides are geared towards enabling rich user experiences and easy back-end configuration and administrative management.
In his comments as quoted in the book, Steve also mentions how Clarity has worked with the Lincolnwood School District to deploy their school website based on just this sort of model: using Drupal as the backbone to enable teacher-generated content along with connections to their existing Web services (such as Powerschool). "These are just the sorts of solutions which can help schools re-invent their Websites from the stale, out-of-date and unusable virtual junk-mail of ten years ago to state of the art systems," says Burt.
