Rigorous Review by Independent Panel Confirms Clarity Delivers Quality Content

Portland, OR -- Learning.com launched its next generation technology assessment product, the 21st Century Skills Assessment, this month after completing a thorough review of the assessment content developed by Clarity Innovations for Learning.com. The independent review panel consisted of educators, psychometricians, and representatives from the International Society for Technology in Education (“ISTE”), the publishers of the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (“NETS-S”), on which the product is based.

"Few tests are prepared as carefully as this one. The items and the resulting test will be an accurate measure for a student's technology standards preparation," says Dr. Gary G. Bitter, who participated on the review panel. Bitter is a researcher, former president of ISTE and former co-director of the ISTE NETS project.

Learning.com commissioned Clarity Innovations for the project because of:

  • Our insight into ISTE’s thinking during the process of refreshing the NETS-S (our extended network includes former members of the ISTE staff);
  • Our fundamental understanding of the nuances of how NETS-S affects teachers’ approach to the process and practice of teaching with technology;
  • Our experience producing a curriculum that meets the new NETS-S; and,
  • Our previous work developing technology literacy content focused on 21st century skills.
