A district-wide website strategy and community engagement redesign for improved ease-of-use and community engagement
South Lane School District in Cottage Grove, Oregon oversees eleven schools, with students who consistently outperform their peers throughout the county and state on Oregon Statewide Assessment tests: 6% of which qualify as Talented and Gifted students. South Lane partnered with Clarity to bring their website into the 21st Century to help give the district's educators and administrators the latest resources and learning tools.
South Lane sought us out due to our experience in helping school districts harness the Web to facilitate community engagement and multiply effectiveness. In just a few months, we created a completely new, friendly, and easy-to-manage website just in time for the back-to-school season.
We engineered an entirely new Web platform based on Drupal. Working with a Web design provided by a member of our extended network, we developed the theme, blocks, menus, and template enhancements to meet the functional requirements. Also included into production were training and deployment.
We improved the ease of finding desired materials, as reported by informal surveys. Thanks to the Drupal-based Web platform, school district leaders and staff are able to quickly and easily publish announcements, resources, and information about the services provided by the district.
