Project Designer Tool

Creating an interactive online planning tool that provides educators with guidance and flexibility as they plan projects.

Challenge

Clarity was tasked with transforming an existing paper-based project planner into an engaging, easy-to-use online tool to help guide educators in creating Gold Standard Projects for their students. This tool needed to allow teachers to not only browse and modify a built-in library of projects, but it also needed to provide the structure and guidance to aid in the creation of new projects from scratch. As one of the first digital product offerings for the client, they also looked to Clarity to design and implement an e-commerce workflow that would support and manage individual and group purchases of the tool.

Solution

We worked closely with the client to develop and release the Project Designer, an online, interactive planning tool, which includes a library of 72 complete, standards-based PBL projects. Teachers have the ability to adapt any of these projects, or create new projects from scratch, for their own students. The tool features an interface that guides educators through a series of five steps, and includes a Tour that gives an overview of the process and key considerations. When complete, print and download options are available. All educators can preview the full collection of project overviews and see full project information for selected projects. They can then purchase individual or volume access to the tool.

Once cloned, users can edit the project to suit their needs.
