Tod Johnston to Present at CMC-South Annual Mathematics Conference

Date

Clarity Innovations Learning Experience Designer Tod Johnston will be presenting "A Fraction Progression with Virtual Manipulatives” at the 60th CMC-South Annual Mathematics Conference in Palm Springs, California on Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th.

The presentation—sponsored by Math Learning Center—examines 3rd through 5th grade fractions concepts and problems within the context of eight Math Learning Center apps to consider how visual models and manipulatives can help students transition from a concrete to abstract understanding about fractions.

The CMC-South Mathematics Conference will feature 300 sessions offered by top mathematics educators from California and the United States. These immersive sessions run the gamut from College and Career Readiness Standards and STEM to Coaching/Mathematics Leadership and Mathematics Equity and Excellence.

“I can’t wait to help my fellow teachers learn how to utilize these free and powerful apps from the Math Learning Center to support student understanding in the math classroom,” says Tod. “And being in sunny Palm Springs in November can’t hurt either!"
