Clarity Delivers Train-the-Trainer Sessions Using the PMIEF Project Management Toolkit for Teachers

Date

Our very own Meighan Maloney, Client Lead/Producer at Clarity Innovations was one of three trainers to put her expertise to work in delivering professional development training for the PMIEF Project Management Toolkit for Teachers Workshop. The training took place in Tucson AZ on July 8-10, 2015 with the Santa Rita High School focusing on supporting teachers as they begin re-designing their curricula. Learn more about Meighan's report from the field...

"Tucson’s Santa Rita High School is in the process of converting to a full problem-based learning (PBL) curriculum, and the principal started the transition with a late-spring training from the Buck Institute of Education (bie.org). The next step was to ask the Project Management Institute Education Foundation (PMIEF.org) to support their teachers using the PMIEF Project Management Toolkit for Teachers, so this lead to traveling to Tucson to lead this 3-day workshop. The school is in an exciting transition, including a new “freshman only” hall with updated, project-friendly furniture, new computers with large monitors for shared work, and lots of public space for displaying the end products of their projects. The workshop included both teachers and “train-the-trainer” sessions for three of the schools professional learning administrators."

Highlighted here are a few participant comments expressed at the workshop:

My favorite part of the workshop was...working with my colleagues. I rarely get a chance to work with something we will be implementing in the classroom. Team = YAY!

LOVED the activities, especially the taco activity -- so fun! Love how every team had a different take on it.

Excellent job with presenting the workshop.

My favorite part of the workshop was...learning all the resources available in the Toolkit.

Using tools to make project management relevant to the learning objectives was the connection I made this week.
