Portland Metro STEM Partnership

The Portland Metro STEM Partnership (PMSP) found an emerging need to connect its many public and private partner organizations, educators, administrators and others involved in the project via some type of online community. While one of the project’s major partners offered to host the community through its existing Jive platform, PMSP sought assistance in designing and building out its sub-community, including finding a means to support a new “resource checkout” service that would allow educators to borrow science equipment for short periods.Read more...

Although this organization had been distributing curricular materials for a number of years, their reach and impact was limited. With an ambitious goal to integrate their materials into as many classrooms and educational programs around the globe as possible, this group turned to Clarity Innovations to explore how these materials could be modified and expanded, as well as to analyze current distribution channels and recommend assessment strategies for students and teachers.Read more...

Colorado Legacy Foundation
As an organization growing in its impact and scale, the Colorado Legacy Foundation recently turned to Clarity Innovations to help create a dynamic online professional learning community.
The CLF Online Communities site is designed to support an expanding list of initiatives driven by the foundation. For example, the Colorado Integration Project is a collaborative effort involving 13 Colorado school districts to pilot a more integrated model of teaching and learning. Participating educators and administrators from across the state will use the CLF Online Communities site as their primary tool to securely share, collaborate, and communicate about their work.Read more...

One-to-one Institute: K12 Blueprint Website

After it’s successful debut nearly a decade ago, the K12 Blueprint has been the one stop shop for educators and school administrators planning and implementing their own one-to-one laptop initiative.
But as the technology has evolved, the Web site
hadn’t. Having worked with the Institute’s media partner before, we were the natural choice for overhauling the website for the next generation of mobile learning. The replacement Web platform is easier for visitors to navigate and find content, accommodates a wide variety of embedded media and will have the capacity to evolve as their priorities change over time.Read more...

In partnership with The Math Learning Center, Clarity developed an app based on the Number Rack manipulative. The Number Rack facilitates the natural development of children’s number sense. Rows of moveable, colored beads encourage learners to think in groups of fives and tens, helping them to explore and discover a variety of addition and subtraction strategies.
This virtual version of the manipulative is an open-ended educational tool, ideal for elementary classrooms and other learning environments that use iPod Touches, iPhones, or iPads.Read more...

PASCO scientific
While PASCO scientific is no stranger to innovation, having introduced one first science apps for the iPhone back in 2009, it hadn’t anticipated the implications it would have on its product strategy. Facing the complexity of maintaining parity of features across multiple versions of code and platforms, PASCO scientific requested our expertise to clarify their mobile product strategy, address technical considerations, and identify and qualify a third-party developer with the expertise necessary to engineer and deliver an entirely new version of their app, SPARKvue HD, for iOS and Android tablet devices.
