If you're attending Innotech Oregon, let us know and we'll make it a point to meet up and say hello. Now in its sixth year, Innotech Oregon brings together nearly 2,000 business and technology professionals to share ideas, strategies, trends and analysis. This year, Malcolm Heath will be onsite for the NW ISSA Security Conference taking place in conjunction with Innotech Oregon. The event is April 23, 2009 at the Oregon Convention Center.

Find the team at WebVisions 2009

Look for the gang at WebVisions, a conference that explores the future of design, content creation, user experience and business strategy. We'll be there to uncover trends and agents of change that force everyone to rethink their assumptions about the Web. While there, we'll be hosting an informal meetup of educational technology enthusiasts to discuss how the ideas presented apply to K12 education (details to follow). WebVisions takes place May 21-22, 2009 at the Oregon Convention Center and is generally considered by locals as "the creative conference for the Web."

April Ed-Tech Beer Meetup

BeerEvery so often, the team at Clarity Innovations invites our extended network folks in the neighborhood of Portland, Oregon to come join us for an afternoon beer at the end of the week to wax philosophical about topics relevant to education and technology. Rigorous Review by Independent Panel Confirms Clarity Delivers Quality Content

Portland, OR -- Learning.com launched its next generation technology assessment product, the 21st Century Skills Assessment, this month after completing a thorough review of the assessment content developed by Clarity Innovations for Learning.com. The independent review panel consisted of educators, psychometricians, and representatives from the International Society for Technology in Education (“ISTE”), the publishers of the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (“NETS-S”), on which the product is based.

"Few tests are prepared as carefully as this one. The items and the resulting test will be an accurate measure for a student's technology standards preparation," says Dr. Gary G. Discussing the policy implications of Web 2.0

Each year the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) brings together education leaders and policy makers to discuss and debate best practices for managing technology in education. (This year's event takes place in Austin immediately prior to SXSW, making it incredibly convenient for attending.) Thor Prichard from Clarity will be attending and asking the obvious questions about the instructional opportunity with mobile devices that also happen to be cell phones.

Recognizing our unique perspective on the education market, the EdNET Awards Committee has invited Thor Prichard, our President & CEO, to join the panel of judges that recognize organizations annually for their work and impact on students, teachers and the education market. EdNET brings together the education industry's leaders, experts and key players for sharing and discussing trends and strategies for improving education. Research expedition to explore the future of mobile devices

In January, Thor Prichard, President and CEO of Clarity Innovations, will travel to Japan to gather data about current trends in mobile devices and their use by youth informally with peers and their presence in formal educational environments.
