The future of interactive media: SXSW

The nexus of technology and education shares much in common with another crossroad: technology and creativity. Intersections like these are what South by Southwest (SxSW) is all about.  Following up to last year's successful excursion, we're sending our intrepid reporter/representive/guinea pig to collect research, make contacts, and gain more perspective on what's ahead. So if you're attending, or just interested in learning what comes from it, stay tuned to the Foundry Blog for reports from the field.Read more...

Clarity Innovations Sponsoring the Next Meeting of the NW Education Cluster

The first meeting of the Northwest Education Cluster this school year will be a more casual networking event with small informal group discussions on topics of common interests. Clarity Innovations is sponsoring because we believe in fostering relationships and synergies within the education and training industries to make it a driving force of the Northwest economy.

And what better way to meet and network informally than with pizza and locally made beer and other beverages? Join us at the Lucky Lab Beer Hall (their NW Portland location) starting at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Please RSVP to the Northwest Education Cluster's informal ringleader and chief bottle washer, Jim Snyder.Read more...

Clarity Innovations returns to Adobe MAX in 2009

With more of our work being designed and developed for online learning environments, along with the convergence of the workflows to communicate in print and digital mediums, we're finding ourselves increasingly reliant upon Adobe's toolset.  So it's probably no surprise then, that our Content & Research Manager, Steven Burt, will be attending the AdobeMAX 2009 conference in Los Angeles in October. If you plan to attend, and would would like to meet while there, contact us.

Sharing insight and strategy at EdNET 2009

EdNET brings together business and education leaders to provide a forum for generating ideas and solutions to meet the needs of educators at all levels. This year, Thor Prichard has accepted the volunteer role of an EdNET Awards judge.  The EdNET Industry Awards program was created in 1992 to champion the efforts of progressive organizations helping to revitalize the nation's educational system. The industry conference takes place in Chicago, September 13-16, 2009.

It's that time of year again: the National Education Computing Conference (NECC)

Join us in Washington, D.C. the week of June 28th attending the National Education Computing Conference (NECC). Find us contributing to the discussion at many of the Web 2.0 related sessions and the discussion on Twitter.  Scheduled to attend this year are Steve Burt, Julia Fischer, and Thor Prichard.  As has been common practice in years past, we'll post updates about our experiences on the staff blog.

See you at Innotech Oregon 2009

If you're attending Innotech Oregon, let us know and we'll make it a point to meet up and say hello. Now in its sixth year, Innotech Oregon brings together nearly 2,000 business and technology professionals to share ideas, strategies, trends and analysis. This year, Malcolm Heath will be onsite for the NW ISSA Security Conference taking place in conjunction with Innotech Oregon. The event is April 23, 2009 at the Oregon Convention Center.

Find the team at WebVisions 2009

Look for the gang at WebVisions, a conference that explores the future of design, content creation, user experience and business strategy. We'll be there to uncover trends and agents of change that force everyone to rethink their assumptions about the Web. While there, we'll be hosting an informal meetup of educational technology enthusiasts to discuss how the ideas presented apply to K12 education (details to follow). WebVisions takes place May 21-22, 2009 at the Oregon Convention Center and is generally considered by locals as "the creative conference for the Web."
