Mobile Technology in Education

Featured at this  month's MobilePortland  will be a panel of experts to speak about the role of mobile technology in education. Thor Prichard of Clarity Innovations will be moderating the interactive discussion with attendees. The event is free and open to anyone interested in technology in education (or mobile devices of course) and takes place at the Portland Incubator Experiment on Monday, August 23rd, at 6pm.  For those that can't make it to the meeting in person, it will be streamed on the Web live and recorded for later viewing.  A copy of the complete announcement from MobilePortland follows: Read more...

Clarity attending ISTE... the conference widely known as NECC

Looking for NECC? We'll be at ISTE. Luckily, they take place at the same time and location: June 27-30 in Denver.  Leading our expedition this year is Client Lead/Producer, Jonathan Maier.  Find us contributing to the conversation and the discussion on Twitter. As has been common practice in years past, we'll post updates about our experiences on the Foundry.

Our Manager of Technology Infrastructure Malcolm Heath will be joining technology leaders from Oregon's and Washington's educational institutions in Welches, Oregon May 5-7, 2010 for the annual conference of the Association for Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE). Find us in San Francisco at the 2010 SIIA Ed Tech Industry Summit

SIIA EdTech LogoTo continue the conversations with colleagues and share some of our latest research, Thor Prichard will be attending the 2010  SIIA Ed Tech Industry Summit May 23-25th in San Francisco.  He will be sharing examples of our content development for multiple platforms, emerging best practices for mobile learning, and strategies for adapting Web based applications for mobile devices. If you would like to meet up while there, please contact us.

The future of interactive media: SXSW

The nexus of technology and education shares much in common with another crossroad: technology and creativity. Intersections like these are what South by Southwest (SxSW) is all about.  Following up to last year's successful excursion, we're sending our intrepid reporter/representive/guinea pig to collect research, make contacts, and gain more perspective on what's ahead. So if you're attending, or just interested in learning what comes from it, stay tuned to the Foundry Blog for reports from the field.Read more...

Clarity Innovations Sponsoring the Next Meeting of the NW Education Cluster

The first meeting of the Northwest Education Cluster this school year will be a more casual networking event with small informal group discussions on topics of common interests. Clarity Innovations is sponsoring because we believe in fostering relationships and synergies within the education and training industries to make it a driving force of the Northwest economy.

And what better way to meet and network informally than with pizza and locally made beer and other beverages? Join us at the Lucky Lab Beer Hall (their NW Portland location) starting at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Please RSVP to the Northwest Education Cluster's informal ringleader and chief bottle washer, Jim Snyder.Read more...

Clarity Innovations returns to Adobe MAX in 2009

With more of our work being designed and developed for online learning environments, along with the convergence of the workflows to communicate in print and digital mediums, we're finding ourselves increasingly reliant upon Adobe's toolset.  So it's probably no surprise then, that our Content & Research Manager, Steven Burt, will be attending the AdobeMAX 2009 conference in Los Angeles in October. If you plan to attend, and would would like to meet while there, contact us.
