I need to know that? Hmm, maybe…

Just now, on Mashable, I learned that police officers in San Francisco will start carrying video cameras. On Huffington Post, I followed a link on the Tech page to Engadget to read how one student learned to thwart face recognition software. On MSN, I saw a video of a puppy learning to catch a ball (I refuse to link that one). And on Reddit, I learned that Google Earth captured a picture (zoom in to the right of Artesina) of the giant pink bunny knitted by dozens of Italian grandmothers back in 2005—apparently it’s supposed to stick around until 2025. I gained all this new “knowledge” in less than 15 minutes online—and this serendipitous learning happens nearly every day to millions of people, including our students.Read more...
